We at CleanXy believe that cleaning and organization has a huge role in our lives. In today’s blog, Anannya talks about some noteworthy home organisation techniques to ensure a decorous lifestyle!

Organizing your bedroom can instantly make you feel like you have your life together. With the right furniture and accessories, you can ensure your bedroom stays orderly… for a little bit longer than usual, at least. To create a truly organized — and functional — bedroom, consider every inch of your room, including the walls and space under the bed.

The following bedroom organization tips instead focus on cutting clutter, organizing small spaces so they are streamlined, and creating a serene vibe in your bedroom. Even better, they can be applied to bedrooms of any size!

  1. The Invisible Under-bed space:

Under the bed storage is great because it is not visible, but still easily accessible. You can choose to store just a few items like gift wrap, extra bed sheets, or books in a children’s bedroom under there. Purchasing a rolling storage container keeps everything organized under the bed, freeing up space in your bedroom.

2. Organize your ornaments:

If your necklace collection has outgrown its jewelry box, try a jewelry drawer insert or hanging organizer. The hanging organizers usually come with or snap onto a hanger and have plenty of clear pockets, so nothing gets tangled. Drawer inserts are a great way to display earrings, rings, bracelets and even watches, while keeping everything separated.

3. Declutter your closet:

Even if your bedroom is spotless, your closet might be spiraling out of control, which will disrupt the calm, serene state of the bedroom. Plus, a cluttered closet translates to a longer time getting ready in the morning coupled with more frustration getting out the door and to work on time. Reduce the tension by tackling your clothes closet.

First, tidy up your closet, either by doing a full closet organization or by doing a quick closet clutter sweep. Incorporate a storage system if needed. Once you go through your clothes, donate the unneeded items and revel in your newly serene space.

4. An efficient nightstand will go a long way:

Rather than import a desk, choose a night table that suits your needs while taking up as little space as possible. A small dresser where you can store some clothing is a great space-saving trick that many professional organizers employ with clients who are living in tight quarters. If you don’t have the room for a small dresser, try a slim night table with lots of drawers.

5. Make your bed everyday:

According to Julie Morgenstern, “Don’t think of [organization] as ‘putting things away,’ but think of it as positioning [something] for its next use.” Treat your bed as the sanctuary it is by positioning it for use every day. If you spend three minutes each morning tucking and folding, you’ll develop a habit of keeping order in the room, which may translate into motivation for picking up the pile of clothes on the floor.

6. Bin for your dirty clothes:

A hamper, either in the closet, next to the closet, or near the closet, will help clothes stay contained without spilling out all over your bedroom. You can choose one that blends in with your decor, or just use a basic hamper.

I certainly hope I was able to highlight some fun and essential tips for a better home organisation in your life to a degree that you may not have thought of earlier. It’s a constant effort, an investment that some people choose to make in themselves to reap the benefits of the same. Like all things in life, it is up to you to either make the investment or choose to ignore it!
